Renewing your passport in Pakistan is now more accessible and convenient, thanks to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). With its user-friendly online portal, the process has been streamlined to save you time and effort. In this blog, we will guide you through NADRA's policies for passport renewal in Pakistan, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

The Directorate of Passports and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have collaborated on an innovative joint initiative with DG & IP, offering an efficient online passport renewal service.

How to Renew Your Passport Online

Pakistani applicants within the country can now conveniently apply for passport renewals, while overseas applicants can avail of the comprehensive Online MRP Web Portal for a range of renewal services, including reprinting for damaged passports, applying for newly born citizens (Type "new"), reprinting lost passports, handling exhausted passports, and facilitating partial modifications for newly married female applicants.

Requirement:

Before initiating the application process, ensure you have the following documents on hand:

  • A high-resolution photograph, not exceeding 5MB in size.

  • A duly filled fingerprint form.

  • Supporting documents, specific to age and category.

  • A valid credit card for online payment.

Online Application Process:

To apply online for passport renewal, follow these straightforward steps:

  • Click on the 'Get Started' button to begin.

  • Register your account using your email and SMS code. For overseas Pakistanis, the code will be sent via email.

  • Proceed with the application for a machine-readable passport by providing the necessary details.

  • Enter your preferred address for passport delivery.

  • Make the online payment using a credit/debit card (Visa/Mastercard only).

  • Provide your personal information as required.

  • Fill in both present and permanent addresses accurately.

  • Upload a clear and compliant photograph.

  • Submit all the supporting documents along with the application.

  • Download the form and ensure you capture the required 4 fingerprints using a 600 DPI, JPEG/JPG, and Grayscale scanner. After scanning, upload the form.

  • Review all the information provided and submit the application.

Important Notes:

  • Please be aware that there is no refund policy once the payment has been made.

  • Users registered in the Pak-identity system can log in directly using their username and password.
